We have requirements (specifications) and documentation which link to each other, need to be versioned and there should be a PDF version for download.

Should we put everything into one Scroll Document or several ones?

  • Same versioning? :flag_on:

  • Same audience?

  • Same topic area?

  • Same authors/contributors?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having one vs several content sources in Scroll Viewport?

  • First question: One Viewport site or several?

  • Multi-content source site looks different

  • Multi-content source: One more level to dig into

  • Advantage of single content source: More freedom to customize the landing/homepage

If we would like to have an introduction text and a changelog on the Scroll Viewport landing page, how should we do that?

  • What are the Changelog requirements?

  • Additional text only possible in single-content source site

  • Best layout option: Article layout (edit theme → Content Source → Layout type)

  • Introduction text possible via excerpt macro placed on space home page

Which different links are there (in the “new” confluence editor), which ones work best with Scroll Document/Scroll Viewport?

  • New Editor: Smartlinks. Smartlinks work only partially in Viewport

  • What works best with Viewport:

    • For links to Confluence pages: /link -> search for Confluence page

    • For other links: paste link, then set to Display URL → Edit link text

Should we set links to other pages as normal or publish once and then link to the actual Scroll Viewport URLs?

  • Set as normal (to the Confluence page)

  • Viewport will automatically render the corresponding Viewport link when the site is generated (as long as the page is part of the Viewport site)

How do we link to sections of pages? (if possible)

  • Always place an anchor macro first

  • If Section is on the same page: Use anchor links

  • If Section is on another page: Generate an anchor link manually. https://yourname.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/space-name/pages/7453179996/Topic+Article#task1

We have images with a description/figure text. The image description is missing in Scroll Viewport?

  • Still not supported
